A EWSHOT family has been distressed by the disappearance of a treasured pair of Hermann tortoises from a pen in their garden, presumably at the hands of thieves.

Sisters Shelley and Coco, female tortoises aged around 10 years old and worth £300 or £400 each, belong to an endangered species and it is a criminal offence for anyone to pass them on or sell them.

They were the pets of Annabel Brown, 10 , who is heartbroken that they are missing.
