A RECORD turnout for this year’s ninth Haslemere Little Lumpy Cycle Sportive, £4,600 for partner charity the Macmillan Midhurst Palliative Care Service.

Ken Griffiths, chairman of Haslemere Fringe Festival, who organised the event sponsored by Cycleworks, said. “The 2017 Little Lumpy was our most successful ever,”

“We had a total of over 700 riders, coming from all over the country, taking part and riding on one of the four routes that all start and finish in Haslemere.

“None of this could happen without the 50 plus volunteers who support us on the day along with a whole army of local residents who bake cakes to provide the energy for the cyclists at the four feeding stations along the way.

“Next year will be the 10th anniversary of Little Lumpy and it will once again be held on the third Sunday in May – so put the date in your diary and enjoy the ride of your lifetime.”
