THE family of a young boy from Petersfield who has a rare muscle-wasting disease is hoping that the generous efforts of a friend will help toward their desperate plight.

Liz Bennett, from Liphook, has become a firm friend of the Rush family, who live on Borough Road, and their young son Joe, 12, who suffers from the life-threatening Duchenne form of muscular dystrophy.

Now, Liz is putting her head above the parapet for a close shave in aid of the charity set up to help Joe.

Liz, from Malthouse Meadows, hopes that lopping off her locks at the Route 66 hair salon on Haslemere Road, Liphook, next Saturday, November 15, will give a significant boost to the charity donation site Go Fund Me.
