A WHITEHILL girl will make history next Wednesday when she becomes one of the 212 British 12 year olds to carry the Olympic torch.
The application requested "outstanding young people who have somehow pushed beyond their personal best and truly deserve their moment to shine".
Lizzie Rose was nominated by her swimming coach, Dr Gary Robb, at Petersfield's Churcher's College.
Mum Sue Rose said that with one of her daughters graduating and the other carrying the Olympic torch, July 11 would be a memorable day for the family.
Lizzie will carry the torch through the streets of Reading, Berkshire.
