EXPERIMENTAL, more stringent loading restrictions in The Borough and part of Downing Street in Farnham are to be made permanent, after they were judged to have had an impact on traffic congestion.

But more enforcement is needed to make them really successful, councillors urged, as the joint Waverley/Surrey local committee gave its blessing for the current regime to continue.

At its previous meeting the committee had received a 1,000-signature petition from the Farnham Air Quality Campaign, calling for action on congestion and pollution in the town centre.
