BEACON Hill pupil Klara Berry lost most of her hair to make two wigs for a charity that helps children undergoing cancer treatment to feel better about themselves.

The 11 year old’s decision to support The Little Princess Trust was entirely her own and she also raised just under £600 to pay for her long hair to be made into the wigs. Staff from Beacon Hill’s Tammy’s Hair and Beauty salon arrived at the school for the special appointment.

Class teacher David Brew said: “Klara did this completely off her own bat. She had real empathy for the poor children with cancer who have to lose their hair and asked her mum if it would be alright. She said it was a lovely idea.

“Her friends at school think what she has done is incredible and she also talked to the whole school in assembly about it. She is quite an extraordinary little girl to be so thoughtful.”
