THE Monster Raving Loony Party will launch its 12th ale in two years at The Jolly Sailor pub in Farnham’s West Street this week.
Landlords Sarah-Jane and Ian will host a unique and memorable night of fun and entertainment from 7.30pm on Thursday to celebrate the new Boris Johnson-themed beer, Blonde Ambition.
There will be the opportunity to meet Alan “Howling Laud” Hope, leader of the Official Monster Raving Loony Party and CAMRA member, who says this will be final ale launched by his party.
Blonde Ambition is a rebranded version of the party’s popular Aureole Ale and is a refreshing four per cent golden ale brewed by local multi-award winning micro brewery Ascot Ales in Camberley.
In addition to Blonde Ambition, the Jolly Sailor will no doubt have their usual wide selection of draught real ales available, including several ales from micro-breweries in the local area.
The Monster Raving Loony Party will also be celebrating some other notable achievements on the night including 100,000 pints of Monster Raving Loony Party ale consumed in 1,000 different pubs across the whole of the UK, entry into the next Guinness Book of World Records as the first ever political party to have a successful range of commercial selling real ales and also for Alan Hope, after 16 years of service, on becoming the longest-serving UK political party leader.
The Jolly Sailor is CAMRA Surrey and Hampshire Borders branch Pub of the Year for 2015.
