WITH social events piling up throughout December and New Year’s celebrations following hot on the heels of the Christmas parties, everyone likes to over-indulge a bit over the festive season.
Hospice care charity Phyllis Tuckwell is asking the community to get their New Year off to a healthy start, by giving up alcohol for January.
Get sponsored to ditch the drink, or donate the money which would have been spent on alcohol that month, and raise funds to support the vital care which Phyllis Tuckwell provides for local patients and families who are facing a very different challenge this New Year as they adjust to living with a terminal illness, such as cancer.
The donations can help fund medical and nursing care, provide therapies, pay for medicines and dressings, and cover the cost of counselling sessions for patients and their families.
For those who have got a long-awaiting celebration planned for January, then don’t worry, it is still possible to join in - just purchase a Drinks Pass and have a night off.
