RUSH-hour traffic was forced to find alternative routes on Wednesday morning when the A32 was closed between Chawton and Farringdon following a collision between an HGV and a car.

Police were called to scene at 8.10am when a Mitsubishi car ended up in a ditch following a collision with a Mercedes lorry.

The HGV remained on the carriageway, causing a blockage.

The A32 was closed between the Chawton roundabout and the crossroads at Lower Farringdon to allow recovery of the vehicles.

According to the police, there were no reported injuries.
