A LORRY overturned after hitting the Wrecclesham Road railway bridge on Wednesday afternoon.
The driver was reported to be "shaken" but not seriously hurt after the crash shortly after 5pm, despite dramatic pictures showing the stricken vehicle lying on its side.
Emergency services attended the scene and the road was partially blocked, causing disruption for road as well as rail users while Network Rail assessed the safety of the bridge.
South West Trains has warned passengers to expect 10-minute delays until around 8.30pm due to the incident.
Twitter user Dean Hayes sent the Herald the above photo, and observed: "Very lucky there was nothing in the opposite lane (or kids on the path heading home from Weydon School)."
