THE Hedgehogs photographic competition for entries into their ‘Love Farnham 2018 Calendar’ has closed.
The entries were reviewed by a panel of judges at the Farnham Town Council Chambers in South Street. The calendar has become a part of Farnham’s identity, with yet again hundreds of entries submitted.
Once again the judging panel had a very difficult decision in selecting a total of 12 photographs.
After much debate and discussion the first prize of £100 was awarded to Graham Markam, for his night time photograph of St Andrew’s Church. The second prize of £50 was awarded to Olivia Aylot for her winter scene of Frensham Pond.
The 10 runners up with photographs selected for the calendar, will receive a complementary calendar they were Ron Acred, Peter Crutchfield, Jason Vosper, Julian Paynter, Liz Markam, Luke Welvaert, Stephen Coughan and Colin McStay.
The Hedgehogs Love Farnham 2018 calendar is currently with the printers and will be available for purchase from early October.
Locations for sale of the calendar will include, the Herald office in West Street, Farnham Town Council offices in South Street, The Lion & Lamb Yard West Street, and local fairs, markets, and outlets that support the fund raising activities of the Hedgehogs, in and around Farnham.
Hedgehog Bob Hockey, who co-ordinates the entries and manages the Love Farnham Calendar competition, commented: “This is the fourth year we have held our calendar competition and the 2018 calendar entries and the selection of the winning, runners up and other 10 photographs ensured that the very high standard of photographs submitted and number of entries continues to develop year on year.”
Dates and additional sales locations will shortly to be posted on Hedgehogs website www.the-hedgehogs.org.uk. All proceeds raised will go to ‘Helping Local People in Need’.
