THE controversial access roundabout for the proposed Lowsley Farm development of 155 houses, off Longmoor Road, at Liphook, has provoked more opposition, after recent changes were made by Hampshire County Council's highways department.

Colin Osbourne, representative of the Lowsley Farm Residents' Association told The Herald: "Hampshire County Council's highways department are compromising on safety at the Lowsley Farm roundabout.

"Residents have offered sustained and continuing objections to the siting of a roundabout at the bottom of a steep hill, with poor visibility on Longmoor Road, as the means of accessing the proposed development at Lowsley Farm.

"Despite the latest changes to the design from a mini to a compact roundabout there are strong feelings that the safety concerns about line of sight, stopping distances, manoeuvrability and calming measures have not been addressed."
