FARNHAM Town Council elected its new mayor last week, with John Ward taking over the role from Lucinda Fleming.

Mrs Fleming was described by many of her fellow councillors as a "hard act to follow" and Mr Ward, who was Mrs Fleming's deputy during her term, said he would be following in her footsteps "not without a little trepidation".
