A NINE-year-old girl has had her long locks chopped off for a second time in aid of the Little Princess Trust and The Brain Tumour Charity.
Lucy Rahelu previously had her hair cut three years ago, aged six, and sent it off to the Little Princess Trust, a charity which makes wigs from real hair for children who have lost their hair while undergoing cancer treatment.
This time around, Lucy had a whopping 32 centimetres chopped off at Tangles Hair Salon on October 6.
As well as sending her long locks off to The Little Princess Trust, Lucy’s selfless act raised around £525.
The money will be shared between the Trust and The Brain Tumour Charity in memory of her young cousin, Raj Rana, who died earlier this year from a brain tumour.
Geraldine Eaton, Lucy’s mum, said: “She loves her new haircut!
"She said it feels different, but good, and she is looking forward to having extra time in the morning as her hair will have fewer tats and doesn’t need to be tied back for school.”
Geraldine added that she, Lucy’s dad and big sister Amy are “so proud of her”.
