PLANS for two luxury homes in the garden of a historic hop house in The Bourne have been unanimously rejected by councillors.
Developer Searchfields Homes applied for planning permission to build a pair of two-storey, five-bedroom homes in the garden of 17th Century Heron Court in Ford Lane, a registered Building of Local Merit.
But councillors blasted officers' recommendation to grant consent at last week's meeting of Waverley Borough Council's western planning committee and rejected the application on the grounds that it would harm one of Farnham's heritage assets.
