EVERYDAY items were transformed into festive decorations at a Christmas craft workshop at Haslemere Museum led by its education officer Kay Topping and professional artist Diana Burch.

Around 30 people enjoyed the two two-hour wellbeing sessions, which were funded by The Arts Society Haslemere as part of its charitable Arts in the Community initiative.

Society committee member Isabelle Cole, who organises its arts in the community programme, said: “ As if by magic, old paperbacks, wooden clothes pegs and polystyrene packaging were transformed into wonderfully decorative and very individual Christmas trees, angels, fairies and snowmen.

“It was all done in a couple of hours of fun, chatter and laughter.

“This was the latest wellbeing workshop at Haslemere Museum and Diana Burch and Kay Topping made nearly 30 participants very welcome.

“Using their own creativity, inspiration and skill, they encouraged the creativity in others to flourish. ”

* The well-being workshops are open to all adults and the next one will be held at Haslemere Museum in March.
