“CHRISTMAS wouldn’t be Christmas without seeing the magnificent Farnham Youth Choir sing,” two families were recently overheard saying in Waitrose.

Well they, and many more, can see their wishes come true this December with Farnham’s world-renowned youth choir set to give three performances in their hometown this festive period.

Tickets are now on sale for the following performances:

• Saturday, December 3 - Junior Christmas Celebration, with FYC’s junior boys, girls and training choirs, from 5pm at the United Reformed Church, South Street.

• Sunday, December 11 - Christmas Words & Music, with the senior youth choir, from 6.30pm also at the United Reformed Church, South Street.

• Saturday, December 17 - Christmas Gala Concert, with the senior youth choir plus the junior boys and girls choirs, from 6.30pm at Farnham Maltings.

FYC will also sing at the Farnham civic carol concert on Thursday, December 8, - for which a ballot for tickets is now open.

Sue Miller, whose daughter is a member of FYC, said: “We have a world-class choir that, thanks to David Victor-Smith, are recognised both nationally and internationally on our doorstep.

“The choir have spent the last two weekends singing in Harrods entertaining shoppers and celebrities from all over the world and next year they will be singing in the prestigious Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris.

“Under the new leadership of Jo Tomlinson and her team of highly acclaimed professionals the choir are going from strength to strength.
