INTERNATIONAL wildlife charity, Born Free Foundation, has launched a competition to mark United Nations World Wildlife Day – the foundation is asking children and young people to ‘make their mark for wildlife’ by turning their hand print into their favourite wild animal.

The theme for this year’s World Wildlife Day is ‘Listen to the Young Voices’, and encourages young people around the world to join together to address ongoing major threats to wildlife, including habitat change, over-exploitation and illicit trafficking.

After entrants have created their print and have taken a photo of it, they simply need to visit www.bornfree.org.uk/wild4life to submit their entry and complete the phrase “I love wildlife because…” in 85 characters or less.

Children can enter the competition with just an image, just the text, or both. The best image will be combined with the best text to make a t-shirt sold in aid of Born Free. The competition runs until Sunday, April 30.
