POLICE are appealing for information after a bizarre assault in which a man held a 14-year-old boy's head under the water at a fishing lake at Cut Mill on Sunday. The teenager was on a fishing trip with his friend at Tarn Pond in Suffield Lane, and at around 1.30 pm, the two boys were setting up their fishing equipment when they were challenged by a man who was with his wife and two young children. An argument started which resulted in the man punching one of the boys, pushing him into the water and holding his head down. When they were challenged by another fisherman the offender and his family made off. The teenager was left with minor facial and back injuries. The offender is described as white, aged in his 30s, around 6 feet one to two inches tall, of slim build, with short dark hair. He was wearing a t-shirt with an "Incredibles" logo on the front, three-quarter length sand coloured shorts and sandy coloured boots. He spoke with an accent described as eastern European and gave his name as Rudolph. His wife was described as white, aged in her 30s, around five feet seven or eight inches tall, medium build with shoulder length blonde hair. She was wearing a pink, sleeveless hooded top and brown/ sand coloured boots. There were also two young boys with the family.
