SURREY Police are appealing for witnesses following an assault in Farnham in the early hours of May 8.

The victim was left with serious facial injuries, including a fractured left cheek and a fractured left eye socket, following the incident around 12.45am.

The victim, a 22-year-old man, was found in St Mark's Place in Sandy Hill following the attack and was taken to Frimley Park Hospital.

Four males – aged 20, 23, a 17-year-old from Aldershot and a 16-year-old from Sandhurst, have been arrested in connection with the assault.

They have been released on police bail pending further enquiries, to return to Guildford police station on June 25.

Temporary Detective Sergeant Blaine Rafferty said: "This was a nasty assault which has left the victim with significant facial injuries. I am appealing for anyone with any information to contact me as a matter of urgency."
