A 21-year-old Bordon man received critical injuries in car crash on the A272, close to Stedham in West Sussex.
He was taken to Southampton General Hospital’s neurological unit suffering from, what was described as, “serious multiple injuries”, following the collision on Saturday, January 9.
The driver, a 36-year-old man from Midhurst, was also injured, but was said to be in a stable condition.
He too was taken to Southampton Hospital’s neurological unit with serious head and neck injuries.
Emergency services arrived at the scene just after 9pm following reports of a single-vehicle collision on the A272 Midhurst to Petersfield road at its junction with the road to Minsted.
It is thought the Volkswagen Passat left the road, struck trees and ended up in the opposite carriageway.
The road was closed for several hours while an investigation was carried out.
