A HOMELESS man has pleaded not guilty to the murder of Glenn Hack, who was found dead in July at his home in Victoria Road, Farnham.
Andrew Savage, 47, of no fixed abode entered his plea at Guildford Crown Court and has been remanded in custody.
He is next due to appear in court on December 21 for a pre-trial review, ahead of his trial which is scheduled to begin on January 4, 2016.
Police discovered the body of Mr Hack, 41, whose family described him as an “extremely talented man” but a “tormented soul”, at the Simmonds Court homeless shelter run by charity Transform Housing and Support on Sunday, July 12.
Post-mortem results showed he had died from “multiple injuries”.
Mr Savage and another man, Gareth Wheeler, 46, of Victoria Road, Farnham, were arrested on suspicion of murder and subsequently charged - Mr Savage with murder and Mr Wheeler with assisting an offender.
Mr Wheeler pleaded guilty to his charge at Guildford Crown Court on August 7 and is due to be sentenced at the culmination of his co-defendant’s trial in the new year.
