THE reduced number of people at the town’s fireworks was attributed to the tragic death of a motorist at the wheel on the A325 and the road being closed.

The sad incident occurred around 3.15pm last Wednesday, when a Skoda veered across the A325 (near the Great Wall takeaway) and collided with a BMW coming the other way. The driver of the Skoda was declared dead at the scene.

A post-mortem revealed the man, 59, from Guildford, died of natural causes behind the wheel. The driver of the BMW, a 62-year-old Liss woman, received minor injuries and was treated for shock.
