LOCAL police are appealing for witnesses after a man was robbed at knifepoint in the area of The Garth, shortly after 6 pm on Wednesday, October 30.
The 58-year-old man was walking to a nearby shop along a cut-through access footpath from The Garth to Anstey Road, when he was grabbed from behind and threatened with a bladed instrument.
He thinks there were three or four teenagers involved.
During a brief struggle the man, who has impaired vision, managed to break free, but had his outer clothing cut by one of the assailants in the process.
The persons responsible, who spoke with teenage-sounding male voices, stole a £20 note from the man. He immediately reported the incident to police and did not require any medical attention.
The police wish to speak with anyone who was in the area of The Garth and Anstey Road at the relevant time, or who may have any information that might assist this criminal investigation.
