POLICE are today hunting two men after a failed armed robbery in Liphook on Monday.

The robbers, armed with a knife and an airgun, shot and stabbed a man in the bungled raid on Lloyds Bank, on The Square, before fleeing empty handed around 4pm.

The shocked victim was shot in the face and taken to hospital but has since been released.

A police spokesman said one of the men was believed to be in his 30s, the second in his 20s, and they are now appealing for witnesses. Anyone with information should call 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
