BELLS Piece Leonard Cheshire Disability Service in Farnham joined thousands across the UK in celebrating the power of volunteering on Friday, May 20.
As part of Give & Gain Day, a global celebration of the power and potential of employee volunteering organised by the Prince of Wales’s charity Business in the Community, employees of Farnham law firm Stevens & Bolton volunteered their time to help with a much needed project in Bells Piece’s grounds.
Jennifer Daniels, volunteer co-ordinator at Bells Piece in Hale Road, said: “A team of 12 spent the day working on an area around the pond, a job unable to be completed by ourselves, and what a brilliant day it was all round.
“Stephen & Bolton employees were brilliant, it was a huge challenge but is now completed and looking really good. Thank you to everyone from Steven & Bolton for all your hard work and making the day such a resounding success.”
More than 12 thousand employees from businesses across the UK took part in this year’s Give & Gain Day, volunteering their time to help community groups, schools and local charities.
Robert Hambrook, service manager at Bells Piece added: “Without the wonderful work of our volunteers, regular and one off, we would not be able to provide the service that we do to the people we support.
“Give and Gain day is an excellent initiative, and one which has gone down so well every time we have hosted a group of people.
“The impact is incredible with the completion of projects that require man power, energy, commitment and enthusiasm. We always find this when we host Give and Gain day, and are delighted with the results every time.”
