THANKS to the Employee Volunteering Community Interest Company, which organised a volunteering day for a team from Renkotil Initial, The Woodlarks Centre in Farnham now has an improved garden for its residents.
The volunteers also hosted an afternoon of activities with the residents in preparation for the Farnham Gostrey Meadow Duck Race.
The care home and activity centre situated on the outskirts of Farnham, provides care and support for people with a range of disabilities, and was selected as the chosen charity for the Duck Race that took place over April Bank Holiday weekend.
Employee Volunteering CiC, is a non-profit organisation that make it easy for teams and companies to get involved in volunteering, ensure the activities run smoothly, and provides a wide choice of activities across the UK.
Ceri Jones-May, from Rentokil Initial based in Camberley, said: “Delighted to have the opportunity to involve the Rentokil Initial graduate scheme members in our local community. It is a great opportunity for them to give something back and also to build stronger bonds as a team.”
Julie West, activity co-ordinator at The Woodlarks, added: “It was great fun, the graduates were fabulous and so full of energy – the residents loved it. They were really helpful, especially at the end when they helped us load the van to get ready for the duck races.”
