A MOVING tribute to a Petersfield war hero who became the 300th serviceman to die in action in Afghanistan last summer marked the start of this year's wreath-laying ceremony at the town's war memorial on Remembrance Sunday.

The parents of Richard Hollington, from Stroud, were among a larger-than-usual gathering of people of all ages who had turned out on a sombre and suitably rain-soaked day to remember all who had lost their lives serving their country in two world wars and other more recent battles.
