A NON-stop yomp across the South Downs by the father of a Royal Marine who became the 300th serviceman to die in Afghanistan last June is set to raise thousands of pounds for a charity close to his heart.

Robin Hollington, from Stroud, near Petersfield, along with 16 members of a team made up of family, friends and colleagues of his son Richard, plan to walk 103 miles over the weekend of the late May Bank Holiday from Eastbourne to Winchester.

Their goal is to raise £30,000 for the charity Help the Heroes.
