SERVICES such as outpatients, diagnosis, minor injury, minor surgery, recuperation and convalescence should be "maximised" at Haslemere Hospital.
This was agreed last week by Haslemere Town Council as West Surrey Health Authority struggles to save £20 million over the next two years.
The town council was invited to respond to a discussion document produced by WSHA entitled "Ensuring a Sustainable NHS Phase II" which outlines eight possible steps it could take, ranging from making administration cuts to, as a last resort, closing an accident and emergency department at Frimley Park, the Royal Surrey and North Hampshire Hospitals.
A full version of this story can be found in the Haslemere Herald of February 4.
