WHITEHILL and Bordon's new mayor, Dr Bill Wain, has said he wants to raise the profile of the town council and has told councillors to make more effort to meet the people "as they need to see us".

The councillors have also been going through a "mentoring process" to help them perform better and have a greater impact on the town – but so far it does not seem to be working.
