A NEW bridge has been declared officially open at Deadwater Valley Nature Reserve.

Replacement work began on the old bridge after it became warn and was undertaken by an approved contractor selected by Whitehill Town Council. The bridge was funded by East Hampshire District Council Section 106 developer contributions, totalling £15,400.
Mayor of Whitehill, Councillor Catherine Clark, cut the ribbon to mark the official opening on October 23 and was joined by fellow council officers, district councillor Phillip Davies, representatives from Deadwater Valley Trust and Woolmer Valley Heritage Society, plus one member of the public.
