A hardcore day of drive and determination has made a hole load of difference to a South Farnham road.

Things are running smoothly in The Bourne as the mayor of Farnham joined the Residents of Dene Lane for their bi-annual road repair weekend.

Around 30 people rolled up their sleeves and brought their wheelbarrows, shovels and rakes for a day on the road.

“All the residents who live on the road make a contribution and meet up over a Saturday and Sunday to fill its potholes,” said Liz Jones.

“It’s been taking place bi-annually for three or four years, and there’s a great community spirit.”

“They all spend around one or two hours of their time to make the road better.”
