WAVERLEY has increased its housing stock in Haslemere by building a pair of two-bedroom houses on the site of a single council property in Bridge Road.
Building works by Davis Construction with Allen Construction Consultancy started in June last year and Waverley Mayor Chris Storey dropped in to admire the finished result.
New tenant Mary Childs, who lives in one of the new homes with her two sons, said: “I’d like to say a personal thank-you to the housing team at Waverley, who supported me.
“It’s a lovely spacious home and has been very well done.
“It’s great to be able to open the French door to the back garden. The workmen were really polite and friendly.”
Waverley’s portfolio holder for housing, Haslemere councillor Carole King, said: “We are doing our best to make good use of all the housing land available. The construction has gone very well and we now have two high-quality, modern homes to replace the older council property that we demolished.”
