THE names of Haslemere's proposed new mayor and deputy mayor for the year 2002 to 2003 were formally announced at a meeting of the town council.
Due to take over their responsibilities on May 9, Stephen Mulliner and Michael Foster respectively will fill the roles.
Mr Mulliner, currently the deputy mayor is a former barrister and is chairman of Haslemere Conservatives.
The proposed new deputy mayor, Michael Foster, is married to former Mayor of Haslemere, Fay Fostser.
He is chairman of the council's planning and highways committee.
