MAYOR of Farnham, Vic Scrivens has reacted with anger and sadness to Waverley's decision to reject plans for a millennium eve party in the central car park, calling some of the council's safety concerns "hysterical".

Waverley finally turned down the idea of creating a Millennium Square, attracting 7,000 people, after chief executive Christine Pointer outlined her concerns in July.
