HASLEMERE Town Mayor Brian Howard has promised to work on finding a tenant for the former Lo-Cost supermarket site in the High Street after plans by a local business to take over the building fell through.

Speaking at the annual town meeting last week, Mr Howard said that plans had been made by Stuart Jay, who runs the Land of Nod in Lower Street, to move into the building, but that the plug had been pulled on the deal at the last minute.
