A BORDON man who illegally sold police memorabilia online has had his appeal against conviction dismissed.

Ronald Cooke, 67, of Liphook Road, told Bournemouth Crown Court last Friday that he felt he had not broken the law by possessing hundreds of items of police uniform and equipment because his intention to sell them was not prohibited under the Police Act 1996.

But the court ruled that he had not taken sufficient actions to ensure his buyers were reputable and that the items would not fall into the wrong hands.
