WORK on the £2.25million project to redevelop Farnham Memorial Hall will start “within weeks” , following Waverley’s announcement on Wednesday it had appointed a contractor.

Surrey-based Armfield Construction is expected to start work imminently on the major project, which includes a two-storey rear extension, new activity rooms, kitchen, meeting rooms and health and wellbeing rooms. Other works include replacement of the roof, reconfiguration of the parking and landscaping.

Waverley’s head of communities and major projects, Kelvin Mills said: “The appointment of the contractor is an important step forward in delivering the project which will provide a much-needed new home for the Gostrey Centre and Waverley Training Services and will also vastly improve the existing facilities for the current and future users of the Memorial Hall.”
