THIS weekend could see the winter’s first snow, the Met Office has warned, with strong winds also expected to hit Surrey on Friday evening.
A ’yellow’ weather warning has been issued, with the public asked to be aware of difficult driving conditions and possible travel disruption.
Gale force winds, accompanied by a band of rain and snow, are expected to move south across central and southern Britain on Friday night and Saturday.
Gusts of 60mph are likely and some of the snow may settle, especially on higher ground. Ice will be an additional hazard on Saturday morning.
