TEMPORARY permission for an extra car boot sale to be held at Country Market on Wednesdays was given last Thursday by East Hampshire District Council's north planning sub-committee.
But it was agreed cars should not start arriving at the site before 9-30 am because of the heavy traffic on the A325.
Selborne parish and district councillor Minette Palmer requested the condition and said she wanted the boot sales to be monitored.
"I have involved Kingsley Parish Council to monitor these activities because the A325 is lethal.
"It would provide helpful evidence for action to be taken, as we don't want queueing on that road."
Alton district councillor Stewart Glasgow believed care should be taken to make sure the boot sales were held as far away from the A325 as possible.
He felt drivers might be distracted by the activity and try to peer over and see what was happening.
Four Marks councillor Ann Storey said there needed to be an extra condition added to the temporary permission to ensure the site is kept free of any litter or debris from the car boot sales.
It was agreed that permission should be granted for one year.
