TIME stood still on the Lingfield amenity site, off the Ridgeway, on Saturday as the millennium time capsule, full of Alton memorabilia, was buried for posterity.
It was topped by a grey granite plaque inscribed with the Christian symbol and the words Alton 2000 'Tempus omnia revelat' - 'Time reveals all'.
