PETERSFIELD breathed a sigh of relief on Monday morning after the storm which threatened to cut a swathe of devastating damage through Hampshire and West Sussex left most of the area unscathed.

Most of the damage in the aftermath of the storm, which began on Sunday and continued into the early hours of Monday, was caused by trees blocking or partially blocking roads.
