SURREY County Council is pressing ahead with controversial plans to axe the county's mobile library service.
The council's cabinet agreed on Tuesday to begin a one-month consultation with mobile library users, as well as a six-month consultation over plans to bring in volunteers to run 11 of Surrey's 52 public libraries.
