THE monthly organ recitals at St Andrew’s Parish Church in Farnham continue next week with the welcome return of Timothy Parsons.
His talent and ability dazzled the audience last year when he entertained during lunchtime at the regular ‘Music while you Munch’ series of free concerts.
Tim is currently the organ scholar at Winchester Cathedral having been a Guildford Cathedral chorister, pupil at Charterhouse and holding organ scholarships at Hereford Cathedral and Selwyn College, Cambridge where he also accompanied and toured with the choir.
He has performed at many of the cathedrals throughout the country and is much in demand.
Tim’s programme on January 12 will include Vierne’s Allegro Maestoso (symphonie lll), Duruflé’s Prelude sur l’introit de l’Epiphanie and JS Bach’s Prelude and fugue in D major.
Also Edmundson’s Toccata-Prelude on Von Himmel Hoch. As always the recitals start at 1.10pm and last about 45 to 50 minutes.
Bring lunch or there is soup, tea and coffee available. There is a retiring collection towards future recitals. All are welcome.
