PUB goers in Surrey are forking out on average £3.75 for a pint, the second highest sum in the country according to the Good Pub Guide 2017.
The guidebook’s annual survey of beer prices found a pint of beer in Surrey is now 28p more than the UK average - behind only London where a pint will set you back an eye-watering £4.08.
A beer in neighbouring Hampshire costs a relatively paltry £3.54, while the cheapest county was Herefordshire where a pint costs just £3.21.
However, the rate at which beer prices are rising has slowed down dramatically - with the average price of a pint in Britain increasing by just 1p, compared to 15p the year before.
