POSTAL looters have struck again in Bordon this week targeting more of the townÕs mail boxes.

Letters and packages were stolen in the latest raids at the weekend. Some of these have been recovered and returned to the post office.

But despite locating mail in the Deadwater Valley and Alexandra Court, police do not know which of the townÕs post boxes have been raided.

For it is thought that the thieves used an ÒinstrumentÓ to steal the mail and therefore the box can be closed afterwards, leaving no trace of the theft.

Sgt Colin Dimond, of Whitehill police, has urged anyone who has any information about the raids to come forward.

ÒWe are still having mail stolen from the post boxes,Ó he said.

ÒMail was recovered from the Deadwater Valley and Alexandra Court over the weekend. Another letter was found this morning (Tuesday) near the hospital.Ó

Looters have already raided 10 post boxes in the town over the past five weeks.

Boxes in Firgrove Road, the Forest Shopping Centre and High Street are among those that have been targeted.

Letters and parcels which have not been opened are forwarded straight on, but those that have been opened need to be matched up by staff at the Bordon Post Office before they are resealed and sent on.

Anyone who sees anything suspicious when posting letters should contact Whitehill Police Station on 0845 045 45 45.

Anyone who believes that their mail has been damaged upon receiving it should contact the Royal Mail customer services department on 08457 740740.
