LOCAL rail users have welcomed the imminent opening, subject to weather, of 35 additional car parking spaces at Alton station.
The expansion brings the number of spaces at Alton to more than 195 and was instigated by Railtrack and South West Trains as a direct response to growing demand from passengers who park at the station and travel on the Alton to Waterloo line.
