Farnham staged a remarkable comeback to beat Redhill in the prestigious FA Vase on Saturday.
Just four days before, Farnham had been outplayed by the Sussex Senior League outfit in the Surrey Senior Cup.
But they gained sweet revenge in a tight cup-tie that went to extra time and was full of incident, both sides missing from the spot and both being reduced to 10 men.
Redhill sorely missed Germain Amanual, their gifted and elusive forward who had tormented Farnham in mid-week.
Farnham had the early pressure, with Alan Morgan and Vince Decicco going close, but Neil Taylor had to be alert in the home goal when Redhill broke out. Taylor dived to stop a Tony Ropke header and, minutes later, the 'keeper went full length to tip a shot from Nick White round the post.
Both sides could havce taken the lead before half-time. The lively Decicco saw a goalbound shot deflected wide and, at the other end, Jake Hutchinson put a free header straight into Taylor's arms.
The stalemate continued through the second half, although both teams had further opportunities to break the deadlock.
Redhill should definitely have taken the lead when Adam Benham was brought down in the box by 'keeper Taylor, but Ropke put the penalty over the crossbar.
With three minutes of normal time remaining, Graeme Miles could have won it after being sent clear by Matt Edwards, but the Town striker dragged his shot wide.
Just seconds into extra time, Redhill made the important breakthrough when David O'Dondo latched on to a pass from Nick White and scored from an acute angle.
On 95 minutes, Farnham seemed to have finally blown their chances. Alan Morgan was brought down in the box by defender Danny Owen, but Jason Blake's spot kick was saved by Mike Lidbury.
But Farnham never let their heads drop and deservedly equalised in the last minute of the first period when Scott Hooper's corner was headed in at the far post by Morgan.
In the second period, the teams seemed to settle for a replay, especially as they were both down to 10 men following a second yellow card apiece for Benham and Decicco.
But, with three minutes left, it was Farnham who snatched victory. Chris Snowdon's cross was flicked on by Miles and Morgan popped up at the near post to force the ball under the diving Lidbury.
This notable win, Farnham's finest under manager Andy Nunn, puts them in the first round proper. They have been drawn at home to Ryman League Division III side Aveley on Saturday, October 20, Ash United have a home draw with Ryman Division II side Leatherhead.
