A MOTORCYCLIST from Lindford died after he was involved in a road accident in Kingsley last Thursday. Damian Langan, 24, of Chase Road was riding his W registered metallic blue Suzuki SV 650 when he crashed head on with a white Mercedes box van on the bend in front of The Cricketers Inn. Mr Langan was taken to Frimley Park Hospital under a police escort but died from his injuries later that day. The B3004 between Alton and Bordon was closed for five hours while officers from the Whitehill Roads Policing Unit investigated the scene of the crash. It is thought that Mr Langan crashed moments after overtaking three vehicles on the left-hand bend before the collision, although this has yet to be confirmed. The driver of the Mercedes van, a 43-year-old man from Waterlooville, suffered shock, but was otherwise unscathed. Police are appealing for witnesses to the crash and to anyone who saw the bright metallic blue Suzuki motorcycle before the incident at 9am. Police want to hear from the driver of a silver Volvo who stopped at the scene, as well as the driver of a white cement mixer who turned at the scene and the driver and passenger of a white van towing a mini-digger on a trailer. Sergeant Paul Owen of Whitehill Police Station said: "We need to hear from as many people as possible who saw this motorcycle before the impact, so we can establish how he was driving and whether there are factors which contributed to the collision." Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Jay Hewes or Acting Sergeant Stuart Jones at Whitehill Roads Policing Unit on 0845 0454545, quoting Operation Heron. Anyone who saw the motorcycle prior to the collision is asked to contact the Force Enquiry Centre on 0845 0454545, quoting Operation Heron.
